If you have been following our family on Instagram you have probably seen many loaves of homemade fresh from the oven bread! With three boys in the house, I've mastered the art of keeping a steady supply of freshly baked bread around the house because half of the first load is eaten within
minutes of it hitting the kitchen counter, no jokes!
Although, keeping the homestead stocked with fresh baked goods may not seem important, it is one of our goals to become more self sufficient and food independent. I have also added bagels and kombucha with homemade SCOBY to the list of items we are making at home rather than purchasing.
Although Sourdough Bread is making a big comeback, this involves keeping a Sourdough Starter alive but sometimes we forget to feed it, or the house is just too cool during the winter to make a really good loaf of Sourdough Bread.
Today, I am going to share my super easy bread recipe anyone can make because I believe everyone should be as blessed as my boys and, why not?! This recipe is an easy one and makes any old sandwich a dream come true and is very versatile!
Easy Homemade Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
3 cups of very warm water
1/4 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of sugar
1.5 tbsp of yeast
1/3 cup of vegetable oil
1 tbsp of salt
7 cups of flour
Method:
In a large bowl dissolve the sugar in warm water. Add the yeast and let sit for 10 minutes or until bubbly. Add oil, salt and flour, combine until there is no loose flour in the bowl.
If using a stand mixer, continue to knead on low speed for 2 minutes, or knead by hand for 5 minutes.
Cover dough with a clean towel and let rise until the dough has doubled in size, or about two hours.
Divide and shape loaves and place in a greased pan, cover with a clean towel and let rise until the dough is an inch above the loaf pan.
Bake for 25 minutes at 375°F. Cool for 15 minutes then enjoy! You're welcome!
